CHECK 2
Having met in 1998, Colin Johnston and Lyn Golding have been performing together as a duo for 10 years, gathering a lot of experience along the way, and a lot of faithful fans. Sometimes they add a Drummer, and the result is a nice tight little 3 piece, for any Country Music venue or a Dance night.
In 2006, Check 2 brought out the album "Our Town", and it was very well received, obtaining a lot of air play, and widely acquired by a lot of fans.
As well as having some classic songs on the album, the Harry Young penned song, "Rain On An Old Tin Roof", was added, as a never before recorded song.
Harry is the producer and responsible for the recording of the album, which was done at The Pump Room, just out of Kyogle in NSW.
In Dec., 2007, Check 2 recorded their second album at The Pump Room, with the title of "Partners in Rhyme", the Isla and Al Grant song, which is the title track.
On this album, along with the most requested songs that Col and Lyn are asked for, they added 2 Harry Young penned songs, "Look At Us Then", and "I'm Blue For You". Another original song, written by Charles Bridge, and music by Dennis Grace of Kyogle, was added , entitled "Let The Heat Roll On".
Listen to Check 2 perform "Our Town"
Col & Lyn are without a doubt two of the premier artists on the North Coast entertainment scene. I am privileged to have been associated with them for many years both as a fellow artist and as a board member of the Lismore Workers Club group.
The fine musicianship they display individually together with their ability to gather the best musical talent from around the district is always a perfect recipe for a successful outcome whereever they play.
Check 2 have a versatility second to none with a vast range of music,
Their popularity at the Worker's always guarantees a full house of happy fans.
I wish Col & Lyn every success with their latest recording venture.
Richard Mackney President Lismore Workers Club Group
